The human body profoundly appeals me. As a nurse, my continuous exposure to its magnificence intensifies my desire to convey the raw beauty of the body through the camera lens.
The fascinating ability of the female body to host and nurture life, though I well comprehend in a physiological perspective, never fails to intrigue me. The pregnant body is often celebrated for the life it cultivates. On the other hand, the huge belly, engorged breasts and enlarged hips and thighs do not conform to the social definition of an attractive woman. I believe that the disproportionate body parts, rather interesting curves, and every change occurring both internally and externally during gestation all contribute to the miraculous experience. There is no better way to justify my perception than to showcase the extraordinary, perfectly distorted pregnant body through my photographs.
